Archives Index << Up close and personal For all of you who do not know me, my name is Gina. Thank you for visiting my site. My hope is, that besides the ususal blabla and cute pictures you will walk away with at least some useful information and/or insights.
At age 22 I met a handsome Canadian boy and up and left and moved to Canada where I got hitched, a couple of years later hatched a couple of little people and at age 33 got ditched. Such is life. My 2 kids Melissa and Mathew are my greatest strength and weakness at the same time. They never cease to amaze me. I really am blessed with 2 children that already show signs of great spirit, strength and the ability to remain loving, no matter what life throws their way.
After muddeling my way through the ever-so-popular pleasantries of divorce, I hid out for a while, licking my wounds and designing a plan B. Well, sorta. I attempted a relationship, mostly for the kids' sake and, of course failed miserably. Then I discovered "the Net". What a great playground ! Here I could meet all kinds of people and never leave home. I was determined to stay away from the dangers of "real" relationships, be my charming self when I felt like it and not get involved with anyone. Therefore I would never be hurt. Right ? Wrong ! For I came to discover that you get just as involved as you would in person. You laugh and you cry, you feel and you hurt just as you do with and for any other friend. But at least none of that Love-stuff is gonna get in the way. Right ? Wrong again! Starting out as a heated disagreement over the potential intellect of blondes, I got involved with a man who knew (and still knows) a heck of a lot more about this whole surreal scene than I do. Someone with the strangest way of thinking I had come across yet. Oddly enough though, I could relate. So, as they say, here was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. A lot of you know him as ab@home. Well, this wonderfully warped individual (who, btw, shamelessly seduced me), and who is one of the very few, mentally equipped to sustain my abuse, has become my best friend, lover, advisor and at times, next to the kids, a big pain in the butt. In December of 2000 we founded GAWD Productions (Gina & Alan's Web Design). It has been a slow growing process, but the year 2002 sees the company busy, profitable and growing:) Let's hope it keeps up! |
